About
She has worked with children and adults, the LGBTQ+ community, families/individuals that have been impacted by child welfare and legal systems, survivors of DV and trafficking, those with disabilities, those with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, schizophrenia, and other stigmatized diagnoses. She feels deeply connected to issues surrounding intergenerational trauma, grief processing, oppression, and impacts from the carceral and “larger” systems in society. Her whole person, client-centered approach is grounded in empathy, active listening, collaboration, and recognizing the strengths within each person. She utilizes cultural humility, motivational interviewing, TF-CBT, narrative and storytelling, bibliotherapy, duality, value identification, and non-western traditional healing such as creative expressions. Esperanza is dedicated to creating an environment where others feel heard, understood, empowered, and supported in working towards their own path to healing. She continues to learn the most by talking with, working alongside, and serving others. She believes that every individual is the expert on themselves, their world, and their experiences.
