Founded in 1997, EPIC focuses on developing applied skills in students to help them integrate into society as adults. With a 1:1 student-teacher ratio, the practice emphasizes the importance of independence over perfection. By utilizing the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), EPIC provides its students and their families with the most effective educational intervention possible. The practice's goal is to prepare individuals with autism to meet their full potential and live an included, engaged, and EPIC life. EPIC offers a range of programs, including 1:1 student to staff instruction, and has a strong commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based education for people with autism. The practice's Transition to Adulthood Program is housed in EPIC's Life Skills House, which provides students with the skills they need to live independently. With a focus on 10 essential skills, EPIC tailors its instruction to the individualized needs and preferences of each student and their family. By shifting the conversation away from what people with autism can't do and towards all they can do with the right intervention and support, EPIC empowers its students to overcome obstacles and see success at home or in the community.
