is a licensed clinical psychologist with specialized knowledge and expertise in the areas of trauma recovery, post-traumatic stress disorder, relationship and family of origin issues, eating disorders and body image concerns, couples counseling, anxiety, women’s issues, and the use of mindfulness and yoga as therapeutic endeavors. She received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and has conducted extensive research in the area of societal influences on the development and prevention of eating and body image issues. Dr. Hamilton focuses on creating a safe, warm, empathic environment for her clients in which to heal and grow, integrating psychodynamic/interpersonal and emotion-focused/process experiential theoretical orientations while taking into account the impact of gender, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and physical and mental disability.
