About
As a Latina transgender woman and bisexual individual, Emiliana brings a unique perspective to her work with LGBTQIA2S+ individuals and other marginalized identities in Nebraska. With a Master of Social Work from the Grace Abbott School of Social Work at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Emiliana has focused her practice on helping people explore their gender, sexuality, life transitions, sexual wellness, and romantic relationships. Her clinical approach incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) elements and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) elements, with a liberation lens that considers the complex emotions and struggles that arise from power disparities. Emiliana seeks to work with those who are marginalized to alleviate and heal the effects of these disparities. In addition to therapy, she provides consultation work and education services to other organizations. Emiliana is also a sitting member of the Omaha LGBTQ+ Mayoral Advisory Board, where she advocates for the rights of LGBTQIA2S+ individuals at the city level.
