Emerald Coast Autism Center

Emerald Coast Autism Center is a 501(C) 3 non-profit organization located in Niceville, Florida dedicated to educating and improving the lives of individuals with autism in Okaloosa and Walton counties and surrounding areas. The center is unique in its approach to teaching these amazing individuals, conducting all instruction and activities in a manner consistent with the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA Therapy is based on the science of behavior and is considered evidence-based treatment for individuals on the autism spectrum. Specifically, Emerald Coast Autism Center follows the Verbal Behavior (VB) approach to ABA, based on B.F. Skinner’s analysis of verbal behavior. The center employs Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs), and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), as well as a registered nurse and licensed nurses on staff. The center takes staffing very seriously, devoting a lot of resources to training their therapists, who must pass an internal evaluation on each student they will work with and then pass a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) examination before working directly 1:1 with any of their students.
