Disability Action Center (DAC) – Redding Office is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1980 to meet specific needs of people with disabilities living in Northern California. The center provides free support to help community members with disabilities achieve and/or maintain their optimal level of self-reliance & independence. They offer various programs and services, including Independent Living, Traumatic Brain Injury Program, V.E.S.T. - Youth Transition Program, Systems Change Services, Assistive Technology, and Housing Info. DAC also provides classes and trainings on various topics and life skills, as well as support groups. Their goal is to work with each individual client to eliminate barriers (physical, emotional, societal, etc.) to increase opportunities for participation in the community. Independent Living Program
The Independent Living Program was created to help those with disabilities receive information and partner with an advocate at DAC to form a plan on how to live as independent as possible.

The Assistive Technology Program provides enhancements and different methods of technology to benefit individuals challenged by a disability in various ways.
Voice Options Program
The Voice Options program offers eligible Californians who are unable to speak, or who have difficulty speaking, with a free speech-generating device.
Disability Disaster Access & Resources (DDAR)
The Disability Disaster Access & Resources assists individuals with disabilities and older adults in disaster readiness and recovery.
