is a group practice located in Columbia, Missouri, established in 1976 by psychologists Drs James and Vicki Straub. They provide therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and children. Each clinician is an independent practitioner who brings their own special areas of expertise to the practice. Their staff includes 5 licensed psychologists and 3 licensed clinical social workers, trained in a broad range of treatment modalities. They offer treatment for a wide range of issues, from current life challenges to life-long difficulties, including depression, anxiety, relationship and interpersonal issues, parenting and family issues, and more. The therapists at CAPS are trained in various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, brief and solution-focused therapies. They are currently observing CDC guidelines for COVID-19 and are conducting therapy sessions via Telehealth or telephone unless clinically necessary to see a client in person. The practice will officially close its doors as a clinical practice on December 31, 2023, but individual providers will continue to accept new clients until then and will deliver psychological assessment, psychotherapy, and other behavioral health services at various other practice locations in 2024.
