About
The ACI Therapeutic Services Program is designed to enhance the support systems offered to their adoption community. As an adoption agency, they possess a valuable understanding of the complete adoption process, equipping them to provide a holistic perspective. Their therapist, Claire Dixon, LCSW, has training in trauma-informed therapy, attachment-focused therapy, play therapy, and adoption-competent therapy. Claire joined ACI as a Home Study Worker in April 2018 and began working full-time as an Adoption Specialist in October 2021. In her current role, Claire is the Clinical Director and Therapist of ACI's Therapeutic Services Program and oversees the international home study program. Adoption has been an important part of Claire's life, as her younger sister was adopted from China as an infant. They offer therapy for adults and couples, therapy for children (ages 3+), support groups, family therapy, group therapy, and clinically focused workshops. Their services are available to anyone impacted by adoption, and they have limited availability due to the newness of the program. Potential clients will be evaluated on an individual basis, and in-person and virtual options are available.
Insurance & payment
Adoption Center of Illinois is currently in-network with BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois, Optum/United Healthcare, and Aetna. If not covered by insurance, you may self-pay. Self-pay fees are $160 for the initial session and $150 for ongoing sessions.
