The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department is proud to provide citizens with David G. Herrera and Ramon Quiroz Park, one of the oldest parks in Tucson’s park system. Acquired by the city in 1902, it was originally named Oury Park after William S. Oury, who resided in Tucson from 1856-1887. This park was one of the first parks to have both a community center and a pool. In 2001, the park was renamed by the City of Tucson after two former Oury Center Recreation Coordinators, David Herrera and Ramon Quiroz, who had a positive influence on the youth of the Barrio Anita neighborhood.
