City of Gardena Recreation and Human Services Department

The City of Gardena Recreation and Human Services Department is dedicated to providing the community with a variety of recreational activities and programs. We offer supervised activities in six parks with community buildings, two gymnasiums, one parkette, one large two-story community center, and one municipal swimming pool. Our division is divided into ten specialized areas including Adults Sports, Aquatics, Childrens Day Care, City-Wide Special Events, Contract Classes, Developmentally Disabled Programming, Facility Reservations, Nakaoka Community Center Programming, Park Programming, and Youth Sports. We also host a variety of programs such as Special Olympics, Fiesta Club, dances, and swimming. We strive to provide our community with the best recreational activities to create lasting memories and promote healthy lifestyles.
