Center Toward Self-Reliance is a Pueblo-based organization that empowers people with disabilities to function as independently as possible and to be active contributing members of society. As an Independent Living Center, they offer the Five Core Services established by the National Council on Independent Living: Advocacy, Independent Living Skills, Transition Services, Peer Support, and Information and Referral. They provide services and supports to the disability community across 17 counties in Colorado, covering roughly 26% of the state. With a main office in Pueblo and satellite offices in Lamar and Alamosa, their team of over thirty individuals work tirelessly to ensure that all consumers have access to the services they need. They have been serving the community since the 1990s and have made significant progress in empowering people with disabilities to move toward self-reliance.
