The Center for Attachment & Trauma Services (CATS) is a nonprofit therapy center supporting individuals, families, and communities in healing the impact of trauma and strengthening the bonds that help us thrive—from the earliest days of life through every stage of growth. Located in Burke and Gainesville, Virginia, CATS provides relationship-focused therapy that honors each client’s unique story and nervous system. They specialize in the art and science of safety and connection, supporting individuals, couples, and families navigating attachment and developmental trauma, adoption, neurodivergence, early loss, and intergenerational stress—offering proven, body-based and relational approaches that create lasting healing.

Attachment and Relational Trauma
CATS supports clients in identifying and healing insecure, avoidant, ambivalent, or disorganized attachment patterns, trust, safety, and regulation challenges, and nervous system dysregulation rooted in in-utero exposure to substances or stress, and early experiences of abuse and neglect.
Parenting
CATS provides guidance and practical support to parents looking to build healthy attachments with their children, addressing intergenerational trauma, and promoting awareness through education.
Dual Diagnosis
CATS offers therapy for individuals with dual diagnoses, addressing both mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD, Autism, and FASD.
