Career & Technical Education (CTE) is the state agency dedicated to advancing public education and libraries in Wisconsin. Led by State Superintendent Dr. Jill Underly, the 28th officeholder, CTE is a nonpartisan, constitutional office elected every four years. Created in 1848 with the state constitution providing for the establishment of local school districts and free education for all children in the state, CTE is committed to providing innovative and inclusive educational opportunities to students throughout Wisconsin. As a leader in public education, CTE is dedicated to creating a brighter future for Wisconsin’s students by equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in today’s competitive job market.
