The Capital District Friendship Circle is a not-for-profit organization that brings together two compelling community needs and two target populations through one synergistic program design. Our mission is to provide special needs children and their families with acceptance, welcome, and respite, while providing teenagers in middle and high school the opportunity to build friendships, develop responsibility and empathy, and regularly contribute to their community. We believe in creating meaningful experiences and interactions for both special needs children and their fully able peers. Through our innovative program design, we strive to bridge the gap between these two populations and create a more inclusive and understanding society.
