About
Founded in 1949 by the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church, the camp offers a wide variety of summer resident and day camps for boys and girls, as well as school year programming, special events, and retreats. Camp Tekoa's mission is to provide a life-changing experience for everyone, focusing on disconnecting from outside distractions, immersing oneself in the natural world, and building relationships through community and teamwork. The camp's values have remained constant over the years, emphasizing the importance of trying new things, stepping outside one's comfort zone, and experiencing the love of Christ. With a thriving community and a strong leadership team, Camp Tekoa continues to offer new experiences and adventures for its campers, including horseback riding and snorkeling. Today, the camp offers summer camps, retreat opportunities, and school year programming, including Afterschool, Homeschool, and Outdoor Education.
