The California State Council on Developmental Disabilities – Orange County is dedicated to protecting and advocating for the civil, legal, and service rights of individuals with developmental disabilities. Our mission is to ensure that their services and supports are of the highest possible quality and designed to increase the independence, inclusion, productivity, and self-determination of each individual throughout their lifetime. We strive to connect people to needed services and supports, provide information about available services and supports, inform people about their rights and how to advocate for themselves, advise people on their appeal rights if a service they need is denied, review policies and practices of publicly funded agencies, identify needed services and supports that are not available, monitor legislation significant to individuals with developmental disabilities, help people become part of their communities, encourage and assist citizen advocacy organizations, and educate the public about disabilities and the importance of full inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the community. By taking these actions, the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities – Orange County is committed to improving services and supports for all individuals with developmental disabilities.
