About
Founded in 2013 by Rechama Jacobovitch, BCBA, and her husband Oshie, the practice has grown to four centers in Akron, Avon, Highland Heights, and Solon, Ohio. They offer a range of programs, including Day Programs for early intervention and group learning opportunities, and Branch, which focuses on life skills and social skills groups. The clinics serve multiple counties in Northeast Ohio, providing more than 20 hours per week of therapy to clients when they first start and maintaining that level of intensity until they are ready to transition to being independent or to another environment. The practice's NDBI (Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Intervention) approach combines principles from Applied Behavior Analysis and developmental psychology, offering a more natural, child-led, play-based way to teach skills to young children with autism. Building Blocks Therapy is proud to be a host of the MetroHealth and University Hospitals Residency Training program, providing residents with hands-on experience in ABA and Autism treatment.
