Association for Special Children and Families

Founded in 1978 by a small group of dedicated parents, ASCF's goal is to support and educate parents to advocate for their own child with a special need. They provide parent consultants who guide and support parents, giving them the tools to effectively advocate for their child. ASCF has been helping and supporting parents who have children with disabilities for over 40 years, working with local partner agencies toward a common goal of helping children with special needs reach their full potential. Their mission is to empower and support families to raise all their children to reach their full potential, and their vision is that all individuals are included in their communities. ASCF offers various programs and services, including educating parents about their rights, empowering parents to advocate for their child, strengthening partnerships with professionals and agencies, and fostering collaboration between parents and schools. They also provide information and resources to families, agencies, and communities. ASCF has received several awards for their outstanding service, including the Learning Disabilities Association of America Proud Projects Awards and the National Parent Alliance Parent Center of Excellence award.
