Aspira Family Focused Support Network (FFSN) is a practical support program designed to help families with children who have developmental disabilities or special healthcare needs. Founded in 1995, FFSN offers customized tools and services to help families keep their children living at home. Referred to the program through a state-funded Developmental Regional Center case manager, an Aspira social worker contacts the family and serves as the program coordinator. After an initial assessment, a personalized program is developed and implemented to enhance the quality of life for the child and family. The program includes training, family meetings, and home visits to improve parenting skills and access available resources. To date, more than 100 families have completed the program, with some staying for up to six months depending on their individual needs.
