About
Founded by Christina Peterson and Bailey Schendell in 2021, the practice aims to help individuals, partners, and families discover the stories that support their preferred lives. They believe in creating a safe and affirming space for people, particularly those in the LGBTQ+ community, and strive to be affirming of marginalized identities. Mountain View Therapy's approach focuses on deconstructing dominant stories and societal narratives that contribute to marginalization, invalidation, and erasure. By examining how society influences a person's sense of self, they empower individuals to reclaim their agency and imagine their preferred ways of living. The practice values the unique experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals and supports them in navigating the complexities of their identities, fostering self-acceptance, and promoting a sense of pride and empowerment. With a commitment to social justice, Mountain View Therapy recognizes the power differential inherent in the therapeutic relationship and strives to center the people they serve as experts in their own lives.
