She received her Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Simmons College of Kentucky in 2019 and her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2022. Akhilah is licensed as an LPCA in Kentucky and is NCC Certified. She utilizes a person-centered approach to psychotherapy, incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and various expressive arts mediums. Akhilah's experience spans working with clients of all ages, including youth and adults, as well as individuals with various mental health differences. She is also a skilled musician and has taught violin professionally since 2010, developing and running the Nia Strings Violin Program since 2017.
