The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) is a state agency that supports individuals with disabilities and their families in living, learning, and working within their communities. Based in Tallahassee, Florida, the agency serves more than 60,000 Floridians with various disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, intellectual disabilities, Down syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, and Phelan-McDermid syndrome. APD identifies the service needs of people with developmental disabilities and provides multiple pathways to possibilities, including social, medical, behavioral, residential, and therapeutic services. The agency is governed by Chapter 20, Chapter 393, and Chapter 916 of the Florida Statutes.
