The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) is a state agency that supports individuals with disabilities and their families in living, learning, and working within their communities. Established in 2004, the agency serves more than 60,000 Floridians with various disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, intellectual disabilities, Down syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, and Phelan-McDermid syndrome. The agency identifies the service needs of people with developmental disabilities and provides social, medical, behavioral, residential, and/or therapeutic services to support their well-being. With a mission to empower individuals by providing timely, clear, and helpful information, the APD aims to enhance the lives of Floridians with disabilities through effective and meaningful service delivery.
