About
Their unique approach is based on setting clear expectations, providing appropriate levels of support, and unwavering consistency to help clients reach new heights in their fitness. The practice strives to create individualized programs that are not only appropriate, but challenging for every client. Founded in 2017 by David Crowley, a licensed Speech Language Pathologist Assistant and ABA Counselor, Adaptive Exercise offers in-home fitness training for individuals with special needs in the Worcester county area. Sessions are scheduled based on availability, after the initial consultation or after purchase of a training package. The practice serves children on the spectrum, helping them improve their health, become more independent, and social. Exercise has been documented to be therapeutic in these areas for people with ASD. Adaptive Exercise uses applied behavior analysis teaching strategies, along with added supports to teach children on the spectrum how to exercise safely, yet effectively. Everything from the equipment used to the exercises are carefully selected with safety in mind. Traditional gyms can be loud and crowded, which may not be the ideal setting for your child. But, in-home training allows your child to work out in a familiar environment. The exercise sessions are goal-focused, tracked by data, but most importantly fun. The programming is centered around functional movement training, preparing the body for optimal performance in activities of daily living.
