About
The practice provides diagnostic evaluations, speech therapy, and prescriptive instructional plans to help students of all ages from preschool through adult. They emphasize understanding the specific needs of the student and develop comprehensive instructional plans with an emphasis on evidence-based practices. Academic Evaluation & Diagnosis was established in 2001 in response to a community need for services that evaluate and support the educational needs of individuals. The practice is dedicated to providing comprehensive evaluative services and referrals to children, adolescents, and adults who are at risk for dyslexia, AD/HD and other learning disabilities. They specialize in creating relationships and developing a team approach to support the student. Dr. Heather Stephens, the founder of the practice, has over twenty years of experience in the field of education and is a board-registered member of the Texas Professional Educational Diagnosticians.
