The Light House is a nonprofit organization specializing in disabilities services and support, serving individuals with intellectual, physical, and developmental disabilities throughout Eastern Connecticut and Southern Rhode Island. Founded in 1992, the organization has continued to grow and restructure to offer specialized programs that meet the needs of the community. With a mission to educate and prepare individuals for life, The Light House offers a continuum of services from education to independent living, fostering social, emotional, and cognitive development for lifelong independence. The organization has three different campuses that serve over 100 individuals every year and cater to a range of different needs. The Light House's approach is centered around educating and preparing individuals for life, with a focus on community-based programming, real-life experiences, and opportunities for growth and development.
