At Saint Alphonsus Rehabilitation Services | STARS Physical Therapy | ENT, Hearing and Balance Clinic, we understand how important it is to identify if your child needs speech therapy. Speech therapy is usually recommended for autistic children since they often have difficulty with social communication. Even if your child is very verbal, they may need to work on communication skills such as responding to questions, starting or ending conversations, changing conversation topics, using gestures, and understanding other people’s body language. It is essential to teach language and communication skills as early as possible if there are any delays in that area. With speech therapy, your child will learn effective ways to communicate, ultimately helping them grow into more independent and confident individuals. If it’s not clear whether your child needs speech therapy, here’s our guide to everything you need to know about speech therapy.
