The Little League Challenger Division is an adaptive baseball program for boys and girls with physical and developmental challenges. We provide our chartered teams with a rulebook that includes a best practices guide to operate a Challenger Division game. Gameplay is typically 1-2 innings long and takes about an hour. All players bat and play defensively every inning, and games can take place on a traditional or synthetic baseball or softball field. We encourage the use of traditional fields for the Challenger Division so participants can enjoy playing on the same field as their peers. We also promote the use of Buddies to assist Challenger athletes in batting, base running, and defense, as needed. Buddies are usually peer athletes from Little League Baseball or Softball programs.
