At Sensory Days (formerly Autism Awareness Family Celebrations), Dallas Museum of Art has teamed up with local arts and culture organizations to provide sensory-friendly programming. On selected days, the DMA opens early for children with autism and their families to enjoy interactive activities led by staff, a music therapist, and occupational therapy students from Texas Woman’s University. As well as exploring the museum’s interactive galleries and Center for Creative Connections during the private event from 9-11am, families are then invited to stay after the Museum opens to the public at 11am and enjoy additional family programming. We are dedicated to making art accessible to all and hope to provide a fun and stimulating environment for children and families.
