Aspira Family Focused Support Network (FFSN) is a practical support program designed to help families with children who have developmental disabilities and/or special health care needs. Our program offers tools to keep children with disabilities living at home instead of in group care. Families are referred to the program by a state-funded Developmental Regional Center case manager and an Aspira social worker contacts the family to serve as the program coordinator. We provide individualized programs tailored to each child and family that include training, family meetings and home visits. Founded in 1995, we have helped more than 100 families complete the program, with many being successful in the initial six-month period. Aspira FFSN is a voluntary program, and we help families recognize and develop their own strengths, as well as assistance in accessing needed services available through other resources, to improve the quality of life for the child and all family members.
