Aspira Family Focused Support Network (FFSN) is a program dedicated to assisting families with children who have developmental disabilities and/or special health care needs. Our program offers practical support tools to enable these families to keep their children living at home, rather than in group care. We offer an individualized program tailored to each child and family, which includes training, family meetings, and home visits designed to improve parenting skills and enhance the quality of life for the child and all family members. Referred to us by a state-funded Developmental Regional Center case manager, an Aspira social worker contacts families to coordinate the services and conduct an initial assessment. Founded in 1995, over 100 families have completed our program, with many completing it within the initial six-month period, and others staying on longer, depending on their needs. At Aspira FFSN, we strive to help families build their own strengths and access the resources available to them.
