School For Hearing Impaired is a regional program serving children from ages 3-21 who are deaf and hard of hearing. Located in Marion CUSD 2 School District, the program offers inclusive opportunities in general education classes, along with Education Interpreters to facilitate communication and understanding. School For Hearing Impaired has a total communication philosophy designed to meet each student’s communication needs, and focuses on developing communication, literacy, language, speech, audition, and vocabulary. Tuition costs are paid for by the student’s home district, making this program accessible to students who reside in the southern 22 counties in Illinois.
