At the College of St. Rose’s Communication Sciences Disorders Department, we embrace a philosophy of ethical clinical service delivery that is consistent with the standards of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Our goal is to serve children and their families in the most effective and humane way, and our students are committed to this fundamental clinical value. We believe in respecting each child’s autonomy, individuality, and cultural background and strive to foster these values in our programs. Our certified and licensed professionals include school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, special educators, occupational therapists and physical therapists. Additionally, our graduate student clinicians provide speech-language therapy and assessment under the direct supervision of a New York State Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. These services are available for free to families that meet New York State eligibility guidelines, funded by a combination of federal, state, and county government funding. If a child could benefit but is not eligible, services are available through the Winkler Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic on a fee-for-service basis.
