Alexis Boyden has nearly 15 years of experience in public schools and is certified in both teaching and school administration, with a strong background in special education. She began her career in Chicago Public Schools as a history teacher and was quickly drawn to working with students with learning disabilities to form personal connections and work more closely with families. Through her work in Chicago, Ann Arbor, and Ypsilanti Community High School, Alexis has been a student advocate, leading projects such as co-teaching models and intervention programs, while also developing Functional Behavior Analysis, Behavior Intervention Plans, Positive Behavior and Intervention Systems, and a Response to Intervention process. Additionally, she serves as an adjunct faculty member at Grand Valley State University, educating students in Educational Foundations. Alexis is passionate about inclusion and has the skills to identify and solve problems in a collaborative manner that works for all parties, especially the students.
